Check C2PA Content Credentials in your browser
See whether a JPEG, PNG, SVG, PDF or MP4 carries a C2PA manifest. The scan stays on your device. This does not read pixel watermarks.

How our local viewer works
Select a file
Drag and drop or pick a file. Transfers stay on your device - nothing is uploaded to MetaRemove servers.
Parse metadata only
We read headers, EXIF blocks, PDF info dictionaries, Office properties, or media tags without changing file content.
Review grouped results
Timestamps, authorship, location, device, and technical fields are grouped so you can spot privacy risks quickly.
What metadata can you view?
- C2PA manifests in JPEG APP11 / JUMBF
- PNG caBX chunks
- SVG XML provenance blocks
- PDF markers such as C2PA or JUMBF when readable in the file
- MP4 / MOV uuid boxes used for Content Credentials
- Limits: SynthID and other pixel watermarks are not shown here
Frequently asked questions
What does this checker look for?
It looks for C2PA / Content Credentials containers in JPEG, PNG, SVG, PDF and MP4/MOV. It does not decode every signed claim inside the manifest.
Is the file uploaded?
No. The scan runs locally in your browser.
Can I drop a PDF?
Yes. The checker reports C2PA or JUMBF markers when they are readable in the PDF. Compressed streams can hide a manifest, so a miss is not a forensic guarantee. Paid PDF cleanup can strip a readable C2PA store.
Does a missing C2PA box mean the file is not AI-generated?
No. Many generated files have no C2PA, and some cameras or editors also write credentials. Treat this as a container check, not an authenticity verdict.
Can I remove the C2PA I found?
For stills, use MetaRemove image cleanup. For MP4 uuid boxes, use PRO. For PDF and DOCX, use document cleanup. Pixel watermarks stay in the file.
Why did a Claude export show Content Credentials?
Some generative tools attach C2PA manifests to exported images for provenance rules. The checker only reports whether that container is present.
